This billet aluminum work of art is part of the ATF 2JZ adapter system. It allows Toyota 2JZ (and 1JZ) Supra owners to swap their factory transmissions for much stronger and more plentiful GM tranmissions. ATF's adapter system allows the use of any GM torque converter which opens up a wide world of performance combinations. One of the most popular GM transmissions for these conversions is the Turbo 400 (TH-400). ATF builds a badass Stage 3 TH-400 for the Toyota Supra that is rated for 900+ horsepower and easily handles drag racing abuse.
The technicians at The SFI Foundation commented that ATF's flywheel was the nicest that they've ever seen. During their torture testing of ATF's billet aluminum flywheel, SFI spun tested it at varying RPM's starting at 12,000 RPM and climbing as high as 14,000 RPM for a period of several hours.
